Research Funding
- NOAA Sea Grant Aquaculture Research Program 2012 RFP:NOAA expects to have approximately $3,200,000 available for a national competition to fund marine aquaculture research projects for FY 2012. This is part of the overall plan to support the development of environmentally and economically sustainable ocean, coastal, or Great Lakes aquaculture. Proposals must be able to express how the proposed work will have a high probability of significantly advancing U.S. marine aquaculture development in the short-term (1-2 years) or medium-term (3-5 years).

- Mid-Atlantic Sea Grant Regional Research RFP: The Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia Sea Grant Programs are interested in funding regional projects that include investigators from all three states and address issues of regional scale especially offshore energy development, land use decisions and water quality impacts, or socioeconomic processes and impacts. - Mid-Atlantic Sea Level Rise and Inundation RFP: Virginia Sea Grant (VASG), with funding from the National Sea Grant Office and the Coastal Services Center of NOAA, announces a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) for research to address sea level rise (SLR) and inundation adaptation challenges in the mid-Atlantic (NY, NJ, DE, MD, and VA). This RFP will fund projects that address the socioeconomic impacts of SLR and inundation or that investigate ways to encourage behavioral changes that will help coastal communities adapt to SLR. These priorities were selected by the mid-Atlantic Sea Grant and Coastal Zone Management programs as high-priority topics that would advance science-based solutions to enhance the mid-Atlantic’s capacity to plan for and adapt to SLR and inundation.
