Watermen Eligible for 2012 Funding, Invited to Learn More

Virginia Institute of Marine Science Marine Extension Program will host two workshops to help watermen and aquaculturists put together applications for 2012 Fishery Resource Grant funding.
The first workshop will be held Wednesday, December 14 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Director’s Conference Room at Virginia Institute of Marine Science at Gloucester Point, VA. A second workshop will be held at the Eastern Shore Community College in Melfa, VA, in classroom 150 on Thursday, December 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. No registration is necessary to attend either workshop.
Funding may be used to develop (1) new equipment and gear, (2) environmental pilot studies, (3) aquaculture or mariculture advances, or (4) seafood technology. Qualified applications must involve members of the commercial seafood industry.

All final grant applications must be postmarked no later than January 13, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
